baby fat, baby phat!

Being a hands-on mom with no help/nanny can be quite consuming, but that doesn’t mean you should neglect yourself! Always take care of yourself for you, for baby, and for daddy! 😉

Here are some tips to still stay gorgeous while pregnant, or losing that baby weight, or just being your regular mom self.

Breast feeding could consume you especially if baby needs to feed all the time. The number 1 advice I could give you is pump. There would be a time when you need to establish latching and breast feeding with baby, but mommies need a break too. So just store the breast milk for your next feedings.

Another is, even if you are a mommy, you don’t have to look like one! There are really cute breast feeding covers nowadays. I found one online that has buttons and it practically looks like a cardigan! Or just bring a poncho. A scarf would be alright too, but I personally prefer a poncho since it just looks prettier.

Circle scarves. If you already have one, perfect! You can reuse this as your breast feeding cover. But it’s also a fashionable piece and it could make a whole outfit with it!

During pregnancy, I had a hard time dressing up without totally looking like, dare I say, a trash bag. Haha! It was hard to find clothes that fit me so I ended up wearing baggy dresses – mommy dresses. And wifey, it is not sexy. You could still use those on some days, but you could also try leggings and long tops. I suggest half colored ones, flowy ones, and those that are flimsy and kind of ragged with the unpredictable cuts. There are tops that are cut sideways toward the bottom, its just more unexpected and your tummy wouldn’t be so accentuated. This is not just for those who are pregnant but for those trying to lose the baby weight too!

I also dug through my closet for those extra stretchy gym shorts, if you have any. Those look cute in any way! Plus, they’re just so comfy and breezy. You could pull off a gym look or a laid back casual one. Especially for the black ones. And just pair them with some loose tees!

Layers. I know it’s not really conducive to be wearing layers in a tropical country. But if you are in a cold place, lucky you! In my case, the only way I could layer is to wear a spaghetti strap top and a polo on it or those see through cardigan-looking things (haha, sorry don’t know what they’re called). Layering is not because you’re not proud of your baby bump like Blake Lively, need I say more? She was gorg during her pregnancy! During pregnancy we not only have the bump, but we gain weight or fat in places we don’t really like. Like in my case, my arms, thighs and other areas so this is just a way to feel more confident. But if you are already, by all means flaunt it!

Another cute idea is to wear a spag strap tee under a see through top, whether short sleeved or long sleeved. It’s comfy, loose, and it’s breezy! Especially in a tropical country – we need this. I guess that’s all for now. And ladies, keep your marriage alive! It’s not just the wife that needs to be happy for a happy life, make daddy happy too! 😉
